Gary Meyers was an exceptional man. He helped spearhead the introduction of the Blackened Canteen Story, a poignant story highlighting an act of humanity in the face of the horrors of war, adding this solemn ceremony to the formal remembrances that take place each year as part of the programming leading up to the
Pearl Harbor National Day of Remembrance. Gary helped to craft this special ceremony to reflect the reconciliation and peace between the United States and Japan. Through his leadership and sensitivity, Gary worked tirelessly to build and strengthen this friendship. We greatly appreciate all he has done for spreding the message and we will miss him dearly.
